Before I started work on my violin concerto,
Sounds from the bazaar, I had absolutely no
idea I would ever write such a piece.
It all began after I watched Master and
Commander….the scene where Paul Bettany
and Russell Crowe play a violin/cello duet. After watching the film, I researched the piece and found out that it was Boccherini’s Passacaglia…LA MUSICA NOTTURNA DELLE STRADE DI MADRID.
After listening to the complete piece on Youtube I was fascinated by the way Boccherinni used Pizzicato on cello and violin.I then decided that I wanted to create a slightly different effect to that used in traditional Classical repertoire.
I wanted to blend the sounds of the Raga with Classical……after that, well its history!!
